Anglers for Conservation’s (AFC) Hook Kids on Fishing Program (HKOF) over the last ten years as impacted over 9000 children and adults in several states. Over the last four years, it has successfully transitioned from providing an essential HKOF program to including a Train the Trainers Program, Advanced Teen Angler Summer Camps, Veterans Go Fishing Workshops and Community Ecoscape Days. AFC’s mission to inspire new generations of marine stewards through angling education, habitat restoration, and applied conservation practices is substantial work – and we need your help.
We can’t rest on the laurels of what we have done but on what still needs to be done. People make these things happen, and we are looking for motivated, inspiring and committed people to submit applications to join the AFC Board of Directors. The AFC Board consists of up to 21 members that meet on the 3rd Tuesday of January, March, May, September and November at an Annual Meeting in August. We employ conference calling for Board members outside the Brevard County area.
The Nominating Committee will be appointing new members at our August 2015 Annual Meeting. Fishing professionals, outdoor enthusiasts, people with legal and accounting backgrounds, manufacturing representatives and just plain everyday fishermen and women passionate about conservation who want to make our world a better place to live are welcome.
