Saturday, January 25th Anglers for Conservation and Marine Resources Council partnered up again for the first of the year Ecoscape Day at the Lagoon House in Palm Bay. Capt. Rodney Smith and his crew were there to educate the community about the importance of giving back to the Indian River Lagoon. Donald from MRC discussed their mangrove planting efforts. Everyone pitched in and helped pot mangrove propagules and tidied up the landscape of the Lagoon House by replacing mulch, weed whacking and picking up litter. Thank you to all who came out and helped support the Lagoon House and thanks to PIP Printing in Palm Bay who generously donated their services and provided us with an Ecoscape Day banner.

Recently AFC also had the opportunity to attend the 17th Annual Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival in Titusville. This festival is one of the largest in the country and focuses on the education and preservation of animals and habitats. Thank you to the Indian River Lagoon Paddle volunteers who were there showcasing the December paddle adventure and the many things learned as well as promoting next year’s big paddle adventure and AFC.
