“A big thank you for the great event today. My eight-year-old daughter loved it and was so inspired. Keep up the great work and keep those kid events coming.” This was just one of twenty comments emailed to us from family, friends and volunteers who took part in this year’s Hook Kids on Fishing (HKOF) clinics across Florida. Events were held from St. Mark’s to Key West to Tarpon Springs to Fort Pierce.

All the preparation, in what seemed like forever in planning, emailing and calling has taken fruition; and events happened without a hitch. Even in Ft Pierce, where Mother Nature provided some much needed rain, the event rolled with the thunder and ducked under the lightning; and all who attended had fun, and received a rod, reel and tackle box. Families and volunteers had fun, shared lessons, and made new friends.

The HKOF events happened because of the volunteers who donated time, learned about the program and liked what they saw. We’ve had several people approach us saying they would like to help with future events. Sounds like a great idea to us!

We’re currently searching for a new generation of event leaders to expand the HKOF program; and want to hear from you.  We have a proven program, all that is needed is enthusiasm and follow up to make a HKOF program happen in your area. We look forward to working with you.
