BP and the others responsible for the disaster that dumped 200 million gallons of crude oil in the Gulf have to pay a variety of fines and penalties, and much of that money can be used for restoration projects. Currently, Florida is using a piecemeal process to decide which
projects to fund with this money.
Instead, Florida should prepare a comprehensive plan for Gulf restoration. Such a plan would ensure that projects address the Gulf’s greatest needs, and puts Florida in a stronger position to receive more funds. We all love the Gulf for its beaches, fishing, paddling, and
recreation. We all want to see restoration funds spent wisely.
To make this happen, join me to encourage Governor Scott to follow through on his pledge to develop a Gulf restoration plan. Please add your name to a letter to Gov. Scott
