April 8, 2017 @ 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Free
Anglers for Conservation (AFC), a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization, in partnership with Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge (MINWR), is coordinating its engaging Hook Kids on Fishing Program to be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at MINWR’s Coquina Pit. The directions are as follows:
- Once over the Max Brewer Bridge, continue on 402 past the fork
- Once you pass the visitor center entrance on your right, continue straight on the 402 to the traffic light
- At the traffic light, make a left turn onto the 3 and continue over the train tracks
- The entrance to the Coquina pit, marked with the P.A.P.I sign, is 1.1 mi from the traffic light on the RIGHT.
- It is important to note that the P.A.P.I sign has an arrow on it that points to the left, across the road to an unpaved dirt road. However, the road to take back to Coquina pit is to the RIGHT of the sign down the paved road.
The first 80 registered children from ages 6-16 will take home a free rod and reel, but must be accompanied by an adult. Sponsor support provided by Fish Florida Foundation, Aylesworth’s Fish & Bait, Daiichi Hooks and local volunteers.
Register by contacting: Kimberly_King-Wrenn@fws.gov, 321-861-2384; alternate 321-861-1274.
