In behalf of the Anglers for Conservation we would like to express our sincere appreciation to this year’s Surf and Shallow Water Fishing Workshop hosts. Their support has helped make these events fun, informative and affordable for dozens of anglers.

We kicked of our 2015 fishing workshop season at Jensen Beach’s River Palm Cottages & Fish Camp which sits pretty on the far southwest shore of the Indian River Lagoon. From there we cruised north to South Daytona Beach’s wooden Sun Glow Pier which juts out over the Atlantic Ocean, then to the educational Barrier Island Center on Melbourne Beach before heading to Bing’s Landing, a jewel of the Palm Coast and home Captain’s BBQ & B & T, my personal favorite Florida BBQ joint.

This year’s final workshop dates take place on March 4th, 11th, 16th and 25th. Starting at Titusville’s legacy Ace Hardware (celebrating over 50 years of customer service in the community), then off we go to Orlando’s Fish on Fire for fabulous food, fishing fodder, frosty beverages and a cracker-style fish fry. To close out the year, we head south to the Indian River Lagoon’s east shore to visit the infamous Vero Tackle & Marine and then north to the Historical JB’s Fish Camp & Restaurant situated at the far south end of New Smyrna Beach along the northeast shore of the Mosquito Lagoon.

I would be remiss not to mention the moral and spiritual support of my partner, John Detmer. Thank you John for orchestrating these fishing workshops.
