This summer the AFC introduced the all new program, Advanced Teen Anglers Camp. The camp is designed to help teens fine tune their angling skills as well as learn what it takes to become a better conservationist. It’s like the big brother of Hook Kids On Fishing. Local knowledgeable and experienced volunteers kept all 20 teens busy during the two camps that took place in June and July at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House in Palm Bay Florida. Some activities included oyster reef restoration, understanding artificial lures, paddling kayaks, casting fly rods, seine netting and even tying their own flies.

ATAC was a great success, and we are happy to announce this program will be sticking around. A great deal of appreciation and thanks goes to the volunteers and sponsors that made the summer of 2014 an unforgettable one for these 20 new anglers for conservation.
