Amazement, curiosity, wonder and smiles are the expressions we see on children’s faces when they are handed a new fishing rod at the Anglers for Conservation’s Hook Kids on Fishing (HKOF) program. In the next 6 weeks, 16 HKOF events will be held across Florida and registration for all of them will begin March 1. See the list below for a location near you. Here are just a few of the lessons learned:

  • Walking safely with a fishing rod in hand
  • Tying a hook onto the line with a clinch knot
  • Casting to a target
  • How to use the various items found in a tackle box
  • Go fishing

Spread the word and join the fun, volunteers are always needed to help with the program centers, registration and fishing with the kids with their new rods and reels! See Events at www.anglersforconservation.org to get more details about each HKOF program. WE’ll see you there!!

We like to thank our dedicated partners who have teamed up with us with their time and energy in continuing this exciting event for youth and their families throughout Florida these past 10 years!
